TERMINAL FACE a solo exhibition by Melbourne based landscape photographer Gavin John presents a collection of stunning images, rich in detail and form, of glaciers captured in remote wild places across many continents.
The Terminal Face, toe, or snout, is the end of a glacier at any given point in time.

SCALE a solo exhibition by Gavin John presents 16 uncropped true colour still photographs that are not immediately interpretable by the viewer.
Neither the subject nor the focal distance of the photographs is apparent.
The photographs were specifically composed to exclude the traditional motifs found in landscape works. Without such keynotes to convey context, viewers must draw upon their understanding of the natural world to decipher what is being shown and at what scale.
The photographs consist of close-up macro shots, wide angle aerials and photographs taken from extreme viewpoints of remote wilderness, and stand alone as beautiful, intriguing abstracts.

The Stills Co-op presents GAVIN JOHN, JEAN-LUC SYNDIKAS, JERRY GALEA, MARTEN RYNER, MICHAEL PRIOR, RODNEY STEWART, SALLY WRIGHT, SIMON GRIFFITHS and SOPHIA PASHOS.
The public in Melbourne’s CBD will be confronted with some of their deepest fears in an outdoors exhibition of photography called PHOBIAS opening in November. The exhibition of large photographic works depicting some of humanity’s deepest fears will appear on Tuesday November 13th at 6.30 pm in Lang’s Lane (off Bourke Street).
Melbourne is renowned for its public and street art that has become an attraction for local and overseas visitors. Exhibitions like these in Melbourne’s streets, laneways and public spaces have become a vital and vibrant part of our urban culture.
Nine artists from the Stills Co-op have created images depicting phobias. Unreasonable fear is a disability that has affected most people at some stage of their lives and there are over 100 common and lesser-known phobias that were available for photographic exploration.
The public exhibition provides a powerful statement that resonates with both art and mental health themes and each image will display a description and explanation of the phobia. The exhibition provides a rare opportunity to raise public awareness of a little known or discussed aspect of mental health.
The exhibition will be officially opened by Ms Georgie Harman CEO of Beyond Blue.
